Back In A Flash Shows Some Dash

Feb 05, 2017

Shane Nichols usually targets a Yarra Valley meeting with a couple of runner's as he enjoys "getting back to the old home track" and it is all the more sweeter when he has a winner.

Back In A Flash toughed it out in a close win to nose out Nichols' other runner Malibu Affair, giving him the quinella, and Panalley with less than half a length separating the first three in the Bucky's Bucks Maiden plate over 1500.

Back In A Flash jumped fairly under Rose Pearson and then was urged forward to sit just behind the leading pair. The four-year-old mare was settled nicely throughout running and then was able to mount an assault on the leader's rounding the turn.

Panalley was leading down the straight but Back In A Flash was able to reel him to win in the tight finish with Malibu Affair on her outside just getting into second.

"This mare is owned by some really good blokes so it is nice to get a win for them today." Said Shane Nichols.

"She is a really tough mare and she will win again over a mile and I expect her to be able to get out over 2000m as well."

Back In A Flash is by Hussonet and is out of the Falbrav mare, Jedrzejczak. Jedrzejczak is a half sister to the Listed winner Spitz and is now the dam of three winners.

Back In A Flash runs in her breeder, Phil Warren's, colours.
